I’m looking for several people who are willing to be moderators of this forum. I know this is always a contentious topic, but its time has come. If you’re interested in serving in this capacity, please email me at rbowen@rcbowen.com and provide your username for the forum, so that I can add you to the roster of moderators. You need to have been around for at least a year, and have enough posts so that I can ascertain whether you’re a positive and productive citizen of the forum.

    Thanks.

I don’t know who should be a moderator but I Know who shouldn’t be a moderator.

HINT: The top 5 spammers/posters in the last 7 months. 😆

To moderate against who? You sound a little crazy asking for moderators for a site that has zero traffic except for one crazy lunatic.

I mean, what are you trying to achieve?

In my opinion, you are better off shutting this forum down. It’s best days are way behind. Put your efforts somewhere else bwana Rich. Wind this bitch down sir or convert it to a Trumpoline. There’s time for everything!!

    Adios!

Dear Rich, you need to reclaim your site first and update the mission to match today’s needs.

RCB-talk has lost membership because the owner no longer seems concerned with the content.

Translating the above post that is posing as “objective advice”:

Please allow this site to be run by Kikuyus who will ensure that Uhuru Kenyatta and Kikuyu interests are paramount.

Please do not allow the International Criminal Court to have prominence on RCB because it embarrasses Uhuru Kenyatta.

Also, do not allow the views of progressive Kikuyus like John Githongo to be prominent on RCB. Such Kikuyus embarrass Uhuru Kenyatta and the so-called Jubilee Government.

Please install moderators who will delete posts that do not conform to the above or will expel or discipline posters who dare to challenge what is perceived to be the “Kikuyu interest.”

Kikuyus are the largest tribe in Kenya and they are the most in America in terms of Kenyan numbers. RCB should therefore promote all things Kikuyu. To hell with the other tribes!

Kikuyus left RCB when they could no longer treat it as a Kikuyu club. They thought they could blackmail Rich. But they really miss RCB, especially now that the elections are approaching. They would love to use RCB to spread Uhuru Kenyatta propaganda, as he tries to get another term of unprecedented corruption.

Some of us were not born yesterday. 🙂

Liberate yourself from your tribe and its "leaders." It's a great feeling!

Njamlik, my entire purpose in requesting moderators is, as you say, to reclaim the site. Not for me, but for you. It’s not my site, it’s yours. But if you, all of you, all of us, are not willing to step forward and take ownership, then what are we doing here? I’ve tried to delegate, and it seems that people want me to rule and judge. I simply don’t have the the time to do what would be a full time job for one person. But if we can find a dozen people, of differing backgrounds and opinions, to collaborate and work together, for the good of this site, then I would be glad to let it live another 25 years. But each time I ask, there seems to be nothing but bickering and pointing fingers. This is why I’m calling it quits. It makes me sad. But it seems clear that nobody here thinks of it as their site. It’s always my site.

If it were your site, what would you do to “reclaim” it? Well, it’s your site. I’m just (and have always been just) the server administrator, not the king.
